Field Notes
Observing everyday life with curiosity
Field Notes are observations from everyday life.
Inspired by the curiosity of a naturalist's field journal, each note begins with something noticed — a meal, a conversation, a walk, an environment — and gently explores what it might reveal about the relationships between our bodies, senses, environments, and the people around us.
Rather than offering quick solutions, these notes begin with observation. Together, they invite a slower way of noticing everyday life and the conditions that support greater awareness, connection, and wellbeing.

Field Note No.06 What Estimating Time Reveals About How You Experience It
The time estimate wasn't necessarily inaccurate. It accounted for getting ready and arriving at work—but not for everything surrounding the transition. An outfit decision, gathering work materials, brewing tea, traffic, and a few minutes to settle in all needed somewhere to go. This Field Note explores the difference between estimating how long a task takes and making room for the experience around it.
Field Note No.05 What Imperfect Cookies Reveal About Perfectionism
The difficulty of a task can change without the task itself changing. An afternoon decorating cookies became an unexpected observation of perfectionism, body cues, and what can happen when the outcome we imagined begins to separate from the one in front of us.
Field Note No.04 What Organizing Reveals About Mental Energy
Organization is often thought of as creating order in our surroundings. During an unexpected period of disruption, I became more interested in what organizing might reveal about attention itself. This Field Note explores how different organization-based activities interacted with the surrounding sensory environment and the subtle shifts that followed.
Field Note No.03 What a Milkshake Reveals About Food and Rewards
Food is more than nourishment. It marks celebrations, offers comfort, strengthens connection, and often becomes a way we reward ourselves. This Field Note explores what a simple milkshake revealed about the relationship between food and rewards—and why becoming curious about the need beneath the reward can expand the ways we care for ourselves.
Field Note No.02 What a Puzzle Reveals About Attention
An everyday observation about completing a puzzle. This Field Note explores what focused attention might reveal about body awareness, everyday regulation, and our relationship with the environments around us.
Field Note No. 01 What a Meal Ritual Reveals About Slowing Down
An everyday observation about sharing a meal. This Field Note explores what a meal ritual might reveal about slowing down, connection, and the conditions that gently organize our attention.
